Give a man a fish and he will feed himself for that day... teach a man to fish and he will feed himself for the rest of his life.

Fishing

One of the most relaxing and stressful activities in Temuair is the art of fishing. Abel Fisherman will teach you all about it and sell you the Fish Rod and Fishing Bait which you need to fish.

Once you have these two items, go to a place with a lot of fish that you can see. Equip the fishing rode and double click on the fish at will: this is all that is to it. It can take a long time sometimes to catch even one fish, but once you do you can use it for quests or sell them back to the Fisherman for money. Good Luck.

Fishing Tips from Naze

The range of the Fishing Rod is 5 paces or tiles. If it'd take more than five steps to get there, you can't catch the fish, regardless of how many clicks. Places like Abel where you can't get within 3 paces of the water make really poor fishing grounds.

Each click on a fishy shadow within 5 paces has a 2% chance of "baiting" the fish (takes a bait from your inventory). Clicking more than 2-3 times a second seems counterproductive, I dunno how many clicks a second the server can process. :/

Mushroom Cap
30% of Peasant's Baiting
45% of baitings are tugged off the hook, nothing more.
30% of a pure Peasant's baitings catch a Mushroom Cap, the fish remains in the water.
The remaining 55% (25% for Peasants) of baitings catch the fish, removing the shadow from the water.

Takes about an hour(give or take 15 minutes or so)to go through 100 bait, non-peasants end up with about 25 Trout, 10 Bass, 5 Rock Fish and 3 Lion Fish. Your mileage may vary. ;P

The fish quest in Hwarone, I'm told, is infinitely repeatable, so those 5-10 Rock and Lion fish per 100 bait may make a nice alternative to dealing with Scrummels (or when you're left all by your lonesome).

This data is representative of only 2000 baitings. Numbers therefore carry a minor margin of error. Big thanks to Naze for the info.
